1. Understanding the first lesson process

Before attending your first driving lesson, it’s important to understand how it will unfold. This knowledge will help you approach the lesson with more calm and to know what to expect.

Meeting and introduction to the instructor

Upon arrival, the driving instructor will greet you and introduce themselves. This introduction is designed to build trust between you and your instructor. They will take the time to explain their teaching methods and answer any questions you may have. It’s also an opportunity to express any concerns or specific expectations you might have. The instructor will then explain how the lesson will proceed. You’ll know what you’ll be doing, how long each part should take, and what the specific goals of this first lesson are. This transparency will help you feel more comfortable and understand exactly what to expect.

Introduction to the vehicle

Once introductions are made, the instructor will introduce you to the vehicle you’ll be driving. This step is especially helpful if you’ve never driven before. You’ll learn to familiarize yourself with the basic controls of the vehicle: the pedals (accelerator, brake, clutch for manual transmission), the steering wheel, mirrors, gear lever, indicators, etc.

The instructor will also show you how to adjust your seat and mirrors to ensure a comfortable and safe driving position. This is the time to ask questions if something seems unclear or if you’re unsure how to use a specific control. This familiarization with the vehicle will allow you to focus on the road once you start driving.
